FAQ: MagBelt - The Best Belt Ever Made
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Indiegogo!

Do the sizes correspond to waist measurements or belt length?

The measurements correspond to waist size. Here is a link to our sizing chart (we no longer carry XS belts):

Are there health or safety concerns with neodymium magnets?

There are no known health concerns with exposure to permanent magnetic fields. In fact, many people believe that magnets can be used to speed healing processes.

However, do not place near magnetically sensitive objects such as a pacemaker.

Has Devin ever been told he looks like Kenny Loggins after a Zumba class?

Yes.

Yo Mr. White, will magnets damage my phone or tablet?

No. These magnets will NOT damage your tablet or phone. But don’t believe us, listen to science.

Here is an article from eHow to explain if magnets effect a iPhone. Really cool stuff: eHOW (http://goo.gl/no8iu0)

Do Magnets Harm a lap top?

The Apple iPhone contains a flash drive, which, unlike the hard drives in most computers, contains no moving parts. With traditional hard drives in computers, the memory can be destroyed by contact with strong magnets. Refrigerator magnets are typically not strong enough to cause this type of damage, but an industrial strength magnet can. In comparison, the flash drives used in laptops are not harmed by magnets, but be careful when using your MagBelt around older computers and desktops.

Warning:

Magnets are unlikely to harm the iPhone because of the flash storage the phone uses, but it is best not to experiment with strong magnets on the device, which could void the warranty or AppleCare Protection Plan coverage.”

Will the magnets lose strength over time?

Very little. Neodymium magnets are the strongest and most permanent magnets known to man. Unless the magnets are subjected to very high heat or are damaged by the hammer of Thor, only 1% of their strength will be lost over a ten year time frame.

Didn’t I see this belt on Shark Tank?

No. There have been several belt companies on Shark Tank, but this is not one of them. We have a patent pending sliding magnet system, which makes our design unique…and better.

We did not invent the belt, we only perfected it.

When will I choose my color and size for my belt?

We will send out BackerKit the week of 8/15/16. o

What is BackerKit?

We have partnered with BackerKit to make sure that the process goes as efficiently as possible. BackerKit is a website that helps track everyone’s selection. You will be able to add and adjust your order there. So if you decide that you want an extra MagBelt or a different MagBuckle, you can order another then. (we suggest the American Opener, because it’s awesome).

The great thing about backer kit is that you essentially get store credit for any extra amount you backed. So if you backed $55 but only selected the $38 reward. You’ get an extra $17 to spend. Maybe on an extra MagBuckle!

Thanks,

The Magzook Team Devin, Kyle, and Mike

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
